A Prayer for Ash Wedneday

Oh, Lord,
In the beginning,
You breathed Your life into the dust of the ground
And man walked upon the earth.

In You we must live and move and have our being
For the dust but swirls only by the wind
And otherwise is trampled upon and paid no heed.

Grant us wisdom
That we might remember our station,
Graced with life and breath of Your own
Walking by Your mercy and Your desire.

Give us grace
To know our frailty,
Be grateful for Your strength in us,
And breathe life as You did in us.

In the name of the Father,
And Holy Spirit,
Who live together as One.
